see this youtube video and you will be able to determine whether CPU affects the overall speed more than GPU. This guy compared 11" MBA(with 320M graphics) and 13" sandy bridge MBP with SSD(with Intel 3000HD graphics )

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp720fEnuRs

Of course sandy bridge MBA won't use full power sandy bridge. But you will know that MBA's performance is just overpraised by SSD, not by GPU. Once other notebooks get SSD, MBA's benefit is only limited to small form factor and weight.(maybe + high resolution)

I just don't understand people overpraising 320M on MBA, this made me to join here.
Great comparison. Definitely makes me rethink my decision between a 2011 MBP and 2011 MBA. Looking forward to his comparison between those 2, that's for sure. But the higher resolution on the MBA is a huge factor for me (coming down from my current 1600x900 13in), and the 2011 MBP's is just too low IMO.

Listen that's kinda odd you're actually saying that, cause you know it's just a nickname. And you probably didn't exactly read my thread but please re-read it you've answered something I didn't actually mean to.

I'm ashamed I work for them. I've always considered Target the "good guys" Wal-mart but the more I get a taste for their corporate side (retail as well as pharmacy) I'm less impressed day by day.

i used to hate film with a passion. you have to be careful about taking pictures since a 24 exposure roll always went too fast. and you always let the good one get away.

digital you just keep on snapping and find a good one later. i always laugh at my wife who tries to take the perfect picture. we had a pro at our wedding and that is the one thing i learned from him, as well as watching others. take as many pics as you can and find a good one later

I really can't understand why everyone is so caught up in what song will be No. 1...like I seriously don't understand you people. I love RATM and I hate Simon Cowell, but I'm probably not gonna buy RATMs song just to make them No. 1, cause who really gives a flying ****......

Why can't everyone just get along and enjoy their own music??

Wu has a relatively poor track record

Now that's something I think we can all agree with.

I'll take the Fonz mantra here: If you're cool, you know it and don't have to tell everyone. I think the guy that wrote that article is probably a moron in a depressed state trying to make himself feel better.

Can somebody explain to me why anybody would want to pay $100/year for an email account with only 1 GB of storage?

Because you love Apple and want them to be really profitable and design more wonderful stuff and take over the world and you can say you were ahead of the curve rather than having to explain why a computer needn't crash! Or maybe you just got $100 to burn and you could do worse!;)

I think he;s going by the fact that iOS is mentioned before Mac OSX in the add.

As someone earlier posted, I suppose those of us that use Apple computers as tools and not as a fashion item should just be grateful it is mentioned at all.

that's even worse!! lol being picky about what's said first in a line?!?! so by that mentalilty if they were switched, would he then complain about Mac OS being the focus of Apple from now on? it's absurd to judge something like that just from a sentance like that. they have to have one before the other, it seems alphabetical, thats it.

Only the under 30 crowd is excited about this.

But hey, it takes a while to develop common sense.

To the "unhip", this looks like yet another way to bore each other to death.

I must say though, for criminals...things are looking up.

We are still in a transition period. There is zero reason to think 10.7 won't come on DVD. Not everyone -- actually most -- people in the U.S. do not have high speed broadband (4 Mbps or faster) service either because of cost or availability [stats here for the non-believers: http://www.oecd.org/document/54/0,3343,en_2649_34225_38690102_1_1_1_1,00.html] . It would be suicidal for Apple to ship a multi-GB OS only via download. Especially Apple home users, who bought into Apple because of it's ease of use, are not going to sit for hours as their new shiny OS downloads, then sit for another 15-30 min as it installs.

Where do you get your 4-5 million...?

You don't think Apple would sell 4-5 million white iPhones over the course of a few months?

The world is ready for the "computer we carry" that "syncs with the computer at home and work."

The iPhone will also let Apple hook the user into the whole Apple experience by giving cell users what no cell company has done: a good cell phone operating system, with friendly software.

If Apple misses this opportunity, it will be the defining moment in its history.
hope for origami killer but this will probbaly be the new TelePod

I have heard of Folding@home at it sounds interesting. I like the idea of helping scientists with their experiments.

Unfortunately I have two problems with this.

    1) Ultimately where does all this research go? Who is benefitting from it all? I can't help but think that all this research will just enable some multi-billion dollar drug company to come up with some pill that they can patent and make billions of more dollars. I tried reading the faqs of Folding@home, but it does not really say where all this research is going. I am sure the scientists mean well with their research, but ultimately they will not be the ones creating the drugs to cure these diseases. Drug companies will be doing that, and they are strictly profit oriented.

    2) My electricity prices are going up by about 10% so I really don't like the idea of my iMac running 24-7 eating up electricity, and adding to the wear and tear of my system. I'm not sure what the monthly cost would be running Folding@home, but I'm sure it adds up.

Can anyone here comment on these concerns?

Well you do have a point. I can't really comment about it, other than that I don't know.

And yes, electricity costs do add up. But I still believe that it's a good thing to do

It appears more of a ghost than any real product. If they wanted a bigger screen, it would have made more sense in the iPod Touch. That device would bridge the user-gap between iPad better than a larger iPhone.

As for smaller iPhone, can't really say what I'd be happy to do without for the sake of size. If calling was core, would I give up app store? browsing? movies? music? camera? Retina? battery? accessories?
